Project
Slate Roof Repair
Palmers Green
Selective slate replacement and ridge inspection.

Work carried out
This slate roof repair involved targeted work to restore a pitched roof without replacing more material than necessary. Slate roofs often require a careful approach because the visible defect is not always the only issue; slipped or cracked slates can be linked to ageing fixings, weather wear, or movement elsewhere on the roof. We began with a full inspection of the affected area, checking the condition of the slates, surrounding courses, ridge details, and nearby roof features so the repair could be carried out with a proper understanding of the roof as a system. Damaged sections were then opened up and prepared for selective replacement.
Matching slates were installed where required, with attention paid to spacing, alignment, and the overall appearance of the repaired area so it sat naturally with the older roof covering. Alongside the slate replacement work, the ridge and adjoining features were checked to make sure no secondary defects were being left behind. The aim with this kind of project is always to restore weatherproofing and extend the working life of the roof without unnecessary disruption or overly invasive work. Once complete, the repaired section was secure, tidy, and better protected against further water ingress, while the roof retained the character and finish expected from a slate-covered property.
