Project
Guttering & Flashing Repair
Enfield
New flashing detail with cleaned and aligned guttering.

Work carried out
This guttering and flashing repair focused on two parts of the roofline that need to work together if water is going to be managed properly. The first stage was to inspect the condition of the stepped flashing, adjoining masonry, and gutter run to see where water was escaping or backing up. Faults in these areas often develop gradually, with minor leaks becoming more obvious over time once pointing fails, joints open up, or gutter alignment drops. After the inspection, the affected sections were cleaned back and prepared so the repair work could be carried out on sound surfaces rather than on loose or failing material.
The main works included renewing the flashing detail to improve waterproofing at the roof junction and correcting the guttering so rainwater could move away freely without pooling or overshooting. Brackets, joints, and falls were checked as part of the process, because the performance of the system depends as much on alignment as it does on the visible repair itself. Once the work was complete, the repaired area was tested visually and finished neatly so the roofline looked tidy and performed as it should. The result was a more reliable drainage path, better protection at the vulnerable junction, and a practical long-term repair instead of a short-lived surface fix.
